India vs New Zealand : India Won The Series

A three-match bilateral ODI cricket series between India and New Zealand.

Team India won by 8 wickets in the second match of the series held in Raipur.

Mohammad Shami, who took three wickets, won the Man of the Match award.

Raipur : The host team India played a powerful game against New Zealand, the world's No. 1 ODI team in all categories of batting, bowling and fielding, and registered a resounding victory by 8 wickets in the 2nd match of the one-day cricket series held at the Shaheed Vir Narayan Singh International Stadium here. With this, the trophy was won by 2-0 in the 3-match series with one match remaining.With the batu back ODI series win, the ICC One Day Cricket World Cup tournament to be held this year has taken a great training.

Due to the prowess of the bowlers in the match, Team India was challenged to chase down a paltry target of just 109 runs. In-form openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill put on another half-century partnership to help the team reach the target with ease.

While Rohit Sharma scored 51 runs off 50 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, 

Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 40 runs off 53 balls with 6 fours. Henry Shipley and Mitchell Santner managed to get one wicket each for the Kiwis.

Kiwis all out for a small Target

Team India won the toss and chose to bowl. India took control from the start by inviting the New Zealand team to bat. Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Hardik Pandya paraded the New Zealand pavilion for pace. New Zealand lost their wicket in the first over and got into trouble. Finn Allen ducked out.

Henry Nicholas was dismissed for just 2 runs.

Captain Tom Latham runs out for 1 run. New Zealand lost 5 wickets as soon as they scored 15 runs and got into trouble. Faced with the fear of being out for a small total.

The partnership of Glenn Pilifs and Mitchell Bracewell helped New Zealand. 

Bracewell, who gave a strong fight by scoring a century in the last run,got out after scoring 22. With this, New Zealand's total rose to 56. Thus began Phillips and Mitchell Santner.

New Zealand recovered with the partnership of Pilifs and Santner. Not only that, he crossed the 100 run mark. But Santner departed for 27 runs.
