ICC Womens T20 World Cup: IND-W Won By 6 Wickets

India, who got off to a good start in the Women's T20 World Cup tournament with a win over Pakistan, now registered a 6-wicket win over the West Indies. 


Cape Town (Feb. 15): India's winning run in the T20 Women's World Cup tournament continues. After defeating Pakistan in the first match, India won by 7 wickets against West Indies in the second league match. Chasing a target of 119 runs given by West Indies, Indian women lost 4 wickets and reached the target in 18.1 overs. 

India women's team got off to a decent start chasing a target of 119 runs. Shefali Verma and Smriti Mandhana shared a partnership of 32 runs for the first wicket. Before the explosive batting performance, Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for 10 runs in 7 balls. After the fall of Mandhana's wicket, the Indian women's team faced some anxiety. Because Jamie Rodrigues got out for just 1 run. Indian Women's team lost 2 important wickets for 35 runs.

Shefali Verma who gave a brave fight scored 28 runs in 23 balls. Shefali's batting helped the Indian women team. 


The combination of captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh removed the anxiety of the Indian women's team. Kaur and Richa Ghosh's partnership led India to victory. West Indies used 7 bowlers to break this partnership. But to no avail.



India needed just 4 runs off 14 balls to win. Harmanpreet Kaur, who scored 33 runs, fell. Richa Ghosh along with Devika Vaidya hit a massive boundary. Through this, India lost 4 wickets in 18.1 overs and came to the shore of victory. 


Richa Ghosh blasted an unbeaten 44 off 32 balls. India won by 6 wickets.

After winning the toss and batting, West Indies did not get the expected start. Skipper Hailey Mathews was dismissed for just 2 runs. But the shock of Stephanie Taylor and Shamain Cambelle gave recovery to the West Indies team. With the partnership of these two, West Indies accumulated a good total. Shamain Campbell contributed 30 runs. Here Stephanie Taylor blasted 42 runs in 40 balls.

Chinell Henry departs for just 2 runs. The partnership of Aadhar Sheedan Nation and Shabika Ghazni helped the West Indies again. Shabeeka Ghaznabi blasted 15 runs in just 13 balls. Fletcher ducked out. Wicket keeper Rashada Williams was dismissed for just 2 runs. Chidan Nation blasted an unbeaten 21 off 18 balls. Through this, West Indies burst 118 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
